In particular, many people are eating too many refined (processed) carbohydrates, coupled with not enough exercise. Refined/processed carbohydrates are a major cause of weight gain, obesity, and many diet related diseases. Answer: In 2001, experts concluded that cancers of the colon, breast (postmenopausal), endometrium (the lining of the uterus), kidney, and esophagus are associated with obesity. Some studies have also reported links between obesity and cancers of the gallbladder, ovaries, and pancreas. Obesity and physical inactivity may account for 25 to 30 percent of several major cancers-colon, breast (postmenopausal), endomaterial kidney, and cancer of the esophagus. Preventing weight gain can reduce the risk of many cancers. Experts recommend that people establish habits of healthy eating and physical activity early in life to prevent overweight and obesity. Those who are already overweight or obese are advised to avoid additional weight gain, and to lose weight through a low-calorie diet and exercise. Even a weight loss of only 5 to 10 percent of total weight can provide health benefits.

Answer: From a young age, children should be offered a wide range of healthy food options and kept away from processed food with little nutrition to train their tastes to like the better choices. Limit the amount of sugar based foods (sugared cereals, candy, cookies and baked good) and drinks (sodas and powdered drinks). As well, limit the higher fat contents by baking instead of frying foods and reading labels for percentage of fat in items. Provide healthy snacks like fruit and nuts and yogurt. Besides the food they eat children need exercise. Instead of watching television or sitting in front of a computer game have them go outside and play ball with friends or ride a bicycle.
Answer: Short answer... most likely not. Most people who are obese have it in their genes. Others just let themselves go. I suppose if their was no television certain people would be more fit because they could not just sit around all day eating and watching t.v. , but there would still be other things to do instead of working out. Television is not what caused me to gain weight, but my distant cousin gained about 10 pounds when he bought his t.v. I know many healthy people with televisions. Again, it really depens. I think t.v. is not the main cause of obesity, but it might effect a certain number of people. They might watch t.v. for hours and hours whlie they eat, but in that situation the eating is the main problem. Do you understand where I am going with this. It is eating in front of the t.v. that would probably cause weight gain. I completley agree. I have done some research and it shows that TV itself doesnt have anything to do with it. All it is is letting yoursel go and you can eat anywhere TV is just something you can do without really doing anything at all.
