Is a 102.4 fever dangerous?
Is a 102.4 temperature dangerous for a 51 year old female
Answer: Fever is not dangerous; rather it is one of the protective mechanism of your body against any infection or inflammation. Yes, high rise of body temperature more than 105 degree F can result febrile convulsion, muscles rigidity or more heart beat, and still more high temperature may cause brain hemorrhage or organ failure, but in practically temperature from 100 F to 103 F will not result any problem (except in the case of a child who has a P/H of febrile convulsion record).
Answer: No but if accompanied by vomiting and other stuff but nothing hazardous. No slight fever is not dangerous. You can feel a little lazy and tired, but it is not going to kill you or it is not going to do anything else dangerous. :)
Answer: May be if it lasts for a long time. But it becomes serious for brain functions etc. when it rises to 41 and more. You should cool a patient with fever over 39, so it falls under 39, use tapid water and antipyretics like paracetamol.
