  • Answer: The main causes of overweight or obesity include: unhealthy food, lack of regular aerobic exercise and heredity etc. The ideal BMI (body mass index=weight/height^2, note: weight as kilogramme, height as meter) is between 21 and 25, you need to make sure if you are overweight or not, then you need to lose your weight if your BMI>25. Overweight or obesity is not only to affect your appearance but also definitely a serious problem that may lead to heart diseases, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and more, so you should not overlook your weight. Losing or maintaining an ideal weight is not a difficult task if you follow a healthy lifestyle including low GI eating, regular aerobic exercise and suitable supplements.
  • Answer: Do you mean in an individual or as a general trend?

In an individual it depends on the cause of obesity - if the cause is overeating then of course you can. If the cause is medical then it may be harder but should still be possible - in most cases.

Either way the vast majority of cases of obesity are caused by overconsumption of food - something which can be remedied very simply.

  • Answer: Short answer... most likely not. Most people who are obese have it in their genes. Others just let themselves go. I suppose if their was no television certain people would be more fit because they could not just sit around all day eating and watching t.v. , but there would still be other things to do instead of working out. Television is not what caused me to gain weight, but my distant cousin gained about 10 pounds when he bought his t.v. I know many healthy people with televisions. Again, it really depens. I think t.v. is not the main cause of obesity, but it might effect a certain number of people. They might watch t.v. for hours and hours whlie they eat, but in that situation the eating is the main problem. Do you understand where I am going with this. It is eating in front of the t.v. that would probably cause weight gain.
I completley agree. I have done some research and it shows that TV itself doesnt have anything to do with it. All it is is letting yoursel go and you can eat anywhere TV is just something you can do without really doing anything at all.
